About Talk & Comment
The team behind hundreds of millions of voice notes
A voice-note tool for people who would rather be heard than typed at. Since 2013, teachers in 160 countries have used Talk & Comment to say the feedback out loud instead of typing it.
Our story
Talk & Comment started in 2013 with a simple question: why does written feedback take so long and say so little?
Since then, teachers in 160 countries have sent hundreds of millions of voice notes — the kind of feedback you can hear the person in.
Today we are a small distributed team working out of Oakland, California. We build for teachers and instructional coaches first, and everything else follows from that.
Our mission
Written feedback is quick to skim and easy to misread. Spoken feedback carries the part that does the work: the tone, the pause, the “here’s what I actually meant.”
Our mission is to make that as cheap to send as a written comment — no call to schedule, no video to produce, and nothing for the student to install.
Our values
Teachers are our north star
Every feature, every decision starts with "does this help educators help their students?"
Record. Share. Done.
We obsess over removing friction so you can focus on what matters: the message.
Built for FERPA and COPPA
Your voice notes are yours. Audio is encrypted in transit and at rest, transcription runs on TAC-controlled servers by default, and we don’t sell student data. Privacy policy.
A free plan you can teach on
25 voice notes a month, three collections, no credit card. Transcripts and translation into 19 languages come with the paid plans. See pricing.
Why voice?
Speaking beats typing
Recording a voice note is faster than typing the same feedback out — and the tone comes along for free.
Tone comes through
Students hear you care — because they literally hear you. Encouragement lands the way it was meant to.
Feedback that plays inline
Voice notes play right where students work — no login, no download, one click to listen.
